This program is designed to provide information from overseas and tour experts. Mentors who have extensive experience in overseas performances and tours have been selected for the 2020 APaMM choice performance teams. We hope to establish a network and derive practical information through communication with them.

Kim Hyunggun (Ssako)
Korea
Hyunggun Kim is well known as the manager of JAMBINAI.
He is pursuing a "job that supports everything necessary besides creating music itself."
In 2008, he started his career at the hardcore/punk label GMC Records and worked with bands such as Vassline, 49 Molphines, and Apollo 18. Since JAMBINAI's debut in 2010, he has been in charge of all management tasks. In 2015, he launched a new small-selection, 'The Tell-tale Heart.' And released records of JAMBINAI and Billy Carter. In addition, foreign artists such as MONO (JPN) and tricot (JPN) have performed in Korea, and distributing and PR about Ginger Root (US) in Asia. He will continue to work on connecting Korea with a piece of world music.

Shawn Choi

Shawn Choi came to New York from Seoul in 2004, and moved from studying performing arts administration at New York University to working in development, marketing, and presenting at Flushing Town Hall (2007-present).
Choi longed to build stronger ties between the Korean traditional and contemporary music scene and American audiences, which inspired him to found his own agency, SORI (2016-present). Choi has been an instrumental figure in raising awareness of Korea’s diverse and unique performing arts scene in the U.S. and Canada.
SORI is a New York City based artist agency specializing in Korean world music and its mission is to introduce powerful works of Korean music to a global, culturally curious audience in North America and beyond. SORI’s works include programming, producing, booking and touring as well as artist branding and marketing services.
In 2019, SORI presented 8 Korean artists in over 39 different cities in 6 countries at 50 different world-renowned venues and festivals including The Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, World Music Festival Chicago, Philadelphia Folk Festival, American Folkfest, Vancouver Folk Music Fest, WOMAD UK, and Globaltica to name a few.
SORI’s current artist roster includes Ak Dan Gwang Chil, Black String, Coreyah, Joe Kye, Kim So Ra, Lee Heemoon & Prelude, NAMU, and NST & the Soul Sauce meets Kim Yulhee.

After having worked at LG Arts Center as music producer for 6 year, now working on Jarasum Jazz Festival as a programmer and Director from 2007,
Program director for Gwangju Worldmusic Festival (a.k.a ACC World Music Fetival) Between 2010 and 2017, and several music festival such as Jazzpresso festival, Sea and Jazz Festival, Yeowoorak festival, Hi Seoul Festival, Voyage to Jarasum and so forth.
Been participating in a many many international Jazz& Worldmusic festival and international music fair for working to create and develop artistic
